The H2020 project INGENIOUS hosted its 1st full-scale exercise and international workshop on “Tools for the First Responder of the Future” from 24th to 25th May 2022 in a hybrid setting (Villejust, France and online). MED1stMR was invited to attend the event and was represented by the coordinator AIT.
The INGENIOUS project, funded by the European Union and the Republic of Korea under the Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme, develops technology solutions that assists first responders in saving more lives with less risk. They conducted the 1st full-scale exercise and international workshop on “Tools for the First Responder of the Future” focusing on the different needs and challenges faced by First Responders today.
The overall goal of the workshop was to enhance the dialogues on how evolving technologies can enhance emergency responses, improving and ensuring the safety of first responders. Thus, a central aspect was the identification of the needs and challenges of today’s first responders, highlighting the importance of having access to the appropriate technological support to enable them to work safely and effectively in the field.
MED1stMR contributed to achieving this goal by attending virtually the workshop and presenting the ambition of the project as well as the identified challenges and needs of the project´s end users (for more information, see our requirement results). Combined with the experiences and inputs from the other projects of the cluster (such as CURSOR, RESPOND-A, ResponDRONE, FASTER, INTREPID, SIXTHSENSE, RESCUER, PathoCERT, Search & Rescue and NIGHTINGALE), a fruitful exchange and discussion took place. The projects are planning to cooperate further to enhance the ongoing discussions on how evolving technologies can improve emergency responses and the safety of first responders.
